The information for compliance guidelines of farmers using CMV for transporting grain, NH3, and fuel has been updated. I have talked with some of my coops and some farmers about it. They wanted to know when it will take affect. I contacted Dale Moore at KCC and he said it has been in affect since 1985, they have just not enforced it. The FMCSA told states to start the enforcement. He said Kansas will do an education period with an undetermined enforcement date. They will be stopping farm trucks at this time and educating them on what should be done. There will probably be a year of this before tickets are issued, unless the Feds force the compliance issue.
