Promising Career Crop Applicator Program Skyland Grain LLC

Pesticide handlers, sprayers and applicators are responsible for correctly mixing pesticides for application on lawns, landscapes, crop fields and pastures.

These professionals are highly trained and certified and know how to safely and efficiently use appropriate application equipment. They are able to identify areas requiring treatment. They manage the transportation of equipment and chemicals to and from the treatment site.

Crop Applicator Certificate Program

Through Pratt Community College, Skyland Grain has developed a Crop Applicator Certificate Program. Individuals who complete the one-year, 34 credit hour program can expect to embark on a promising career.

Program Requirements

To successfully complete the program, students are required to:

  • Enroll in an occupational work experience course.
  • Be prepared to test for the Commercial Pesticide Applicator License and obtain a Class A Commercial Drivers License upon employment.
Scholarships

Pratt Community College and Skyland Grain scholarships are available.

Career Projection 

Those who successfully complete the program can expect: 

  • An average starting salary range of $45,000 to $55,000*
  • Six percent career growth over the next 10 years*
